Coming from a large family contributed to Justo And Lucy Yanes family restaurant, Lucy's restaurant Located at 701 south cannal in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Lucy said at that time she was the only girl in a family of eight children. She sold borritos and tamales to help with family expences. This eventually lead to the opening of Lucy's first restaurant in December of 1974. The restaurant was located at 305 Bronson st in Calrsbad with a seating capacity for 24 people. There where 10 items on the menu. Her popularity grew, causing her to move to a larger building. In 1978, she finally found a home for her restuarant in its present location, allowing coustomers to enjoy an alcoholic beverage with their meal. in 1989, Lucy added a catering service wich can serve up to 2000 people. Mexican or American favorite food are now offered through the catering Service. In 1985 And 1986, Her business expanded to Hobbs And Roswell New Mexico With Two Locations In Carlsbad. Due To A Serious Auto Accident Wich Injured Lucys Back, She Had To Slow Down And Keep The Current Carlsbad Location Open. At Lucys We Are Continually Striving To Please Our Customers. Everyone Who Visits Lucys Can Expect Quality Food And Service. But That Is Not All, Lucy Makes Every Effort To Personally Greet All Of Her Customers, Learn Their Names, And Treat Them "Very Special".
